We had a really cool thunder and lightning storm here tonight. Went on for quite awhile, much to Gibbs chagrin. Never lost power. Had my lantern ready. I don’t care if the power goes out as long as I can read.

Riding in a bubble might be nice Ches, just watch out for boys with sling shots.

Poor Chesney! But Annie won’t let him get away. Yesterday I learned what a scorpion sting feels like! Put my foot in a shoe and screamed at the pain! I thought at first it was one of those horrid burs but when I banged my shoe on the floor out came a scorpion. Craig chased it down while I read what to do, and was pleasantly surprised to find that icing for 10 minutes is usually the only thing necessary. I had always thought that they were more dangerous, although they can be to some individuals. Just happy it wasn’t a black widow as we have plenty of those around.

That’ll teach you Chesney, well probably not.

Cats have claws so no tragedy forthcoming. Plus, Oliver is probably playing with the bubbles so he’ll do a rescue if needed. But Chesney will be so annoyed about the bubble debris on his fur. That will be far more dangerous.

Love today’s comic. Very imaginative. Chesney looks freaked out, though I’m sure he’ll be fine. On another note, had a slight mishap yesterday. I was making popcorn and I accidentally spilled melted butter on my hand. (“Accidentally” may be redundant as no one would spill melted butter on their hands on purpose.) Don’t worry, I’m okay. I quickly put ice on my hand and managed to cool it down. Next time I melt butter for my popcorn, I will try to be more careful.
