I’ve seen this happen to men when they hit 30, 40, 50, 60, 70….it’s a car, a woman, a boat, a motorcycle…it must be the “0” that scares them….I remember my dad suddenly becoming obsessed with ties, no longer allowing my mom to do the shopping for him, so they became pretty wild and outlandish.
In Ontario, the growing of enormous pumpkins is more than a hobby. It’s an obsession. Friends who had a small hobby farm would trade, buy and sell seeds to grow the most prize-worthy “breeds.” Vines would be tended with care and the competition was serious.
