    Oddly enough, she used to make what we called Crazy Pizza. I won’t describe it as a courtesy to delicate stomachs.

    my Mom is german and she use to make a strudle cake that was almost heaven.

    Anything my mom made was good, and she was quite the baker as well! And she was Italian, and her pasta dishes and pizzelles were great!

    @sugie63- pierogi was one of my favorites too. Also nut roll (though I understand some folks called it “kolache.”)

    My mom made the best chocolate chiffon pie. I prefered it over birthday cake. Tried it myself last week and wasn’t bad. The recipe is a bit tattered, but still usable.

    Saucy I took my mother’s recipe box home with me when she passed away. There’s great comfort there, seeing all those recipes, most handwritten, with traces of spilled vanilla, etc., well you know what I mean. You can tell she used them heavily. :-)
