After my cat was recovering from a bite and had to wear “the cone”, I took him out walking with a leash rather than his usual “free range”. It was working OK until a garbage truck came along. He took off like a rocket and only the fact that the twenty-year-old leather leash broke saved me from having my shoulder dislocated. A minute after the truck passed, he came out of the bushes and we continued our walk without a leash.
This happened to me a few months ago when my Lab Carmy took off after a rabbit, that I didn’t see. A tendon in my right elbow screamed in pain and still hasn’t recovered.

And the good lord only knows where his pipe is going to wind up.

I’m not sure his wrist is going to be the only casualty.

Then again, his left wrist really never was right.

It looks like his middle finger will need medical intervention.

Just one more example of how smoking can be hazardous to your health, Gordon…!

The dog got a stern scolding. And the Squirrel is still laughing.

Gordon, stand on the leash while you light your pipe.

Had a similar thing happen while walking my daughter’s dog. No pipe was involved, but I ended up with frozen shoulder for a couple of years.

Gordon’s going to be looking for his pipe and teeth once his wrist stops aching.
