[nerd alert] I first learned about gin in a Travis McGee novel. There’s a long aside where Trav bemoans the decline of Gordon’s gin. When he’d first had it back in the day it was the best he’d ever drunk. Over the years the company was sold and resold and every time the new owners cut back on the quality.
Quality is not determined by point of origin. Plenty of quality craft gins made domestically and mass produced rubbish from overseas. It is the sign of a pseudo-intellectual snob/jerk to assume an import must be better than a domestic product

Depends on where your domicile is.(…and if you like ANY Gin).
