Trust me, some students are too stupid to copy correctly. She Who Must Be Obeyed deliberately set a test where students could easily cheat, if they so desired. Several students did cheat… and showed it by putting in the correct answer, word for word… to the wrong questions, because she also scrambled the order of the questions and the students didn’t notice because they didn’t read the questions. So they got zeroes for cheating. They complained. She showed exactly what they’d done. Two complained further. They got to have a chat with the dean, while other instructors checked tests taken in their classes for evidence of cheating.
I remember taking a spelling test once, and when the teacher read out one of the words, a kid asked “how do you spell that”? The teacher told everybody the first two letters before realizing it and saying “You can’t fool me that easily”.

Would like to know how they would know to use the ‘mould’ spelling vs. ‘mold’.
