Not a tech guy. Explain like I’m 5 how come crypto-currency can be 100% secure and yet we can’t use the same tech to secure medical records. [serious please]

I wish we still used mimeograph machines. Loved the smell of ink!

Years ago, in a telephone company’s call center, I had the challenge of trying to stop a medical center from faxing personal medical records to a private residence fax machine in error. We called the medical center that was assigned the telephone number that the fax was using but they didn’t know which machine, of hundreds, was using that telephone line for those records. So, We spent hours sending faxes to ALL their lines to stop faxing the number of the private residence line. It worked.

Between 20 and 35 percent of the cost of medical care in the USA is taking care of insurance paperwork.

Dan, I love the dinosaur representation for the fax and the hi tech robot for paperless records. However, I’m still trying to figure out the significance of the background characters (a witch, a skeleton, a Viking, a clown, an alien, and Lincoln).

It amazes me how you can go one office to another of a hospital network and have to fill out the same five pages on your health conditions, meds, everything for each. Than you go into the room and the nurse sees the info is already on your record
