My brother used to have a St. Bernard (she passed a couple years back)… she was instinctively geared toward keeping people out of danger. If he would fall into a snow bank near her and pretend to be stuck, she would rush over and work to pull him out… no one trained her to do that, she would just do it. He thought about putting a small barrel on her collar, but he never did that to her. The kids miss their dog/guardian…
That’s an extravagant waste of vermouth. As experienced barmen know, one opens a bottle of gin and quietly WHISPERS “vermouth” over the opening. That’s all that’s needed on a rainy/snowy day to get out of wet clothes and into a dry martini.
