It’s worse than that Mr. Old Guy. It was YOUR generation. You just didn’t help. Bought my first home PC in 1982. It only cost $4,000, but it had a whole 250K of RAM and two – count ’em – two 5-1/4 floppy drives. And a color monitor. The color was green. Blazing 10mHz speed.

The modern stored program computer was actually invented by the WW2 generation raised before TV was widespread.
