The Fortress is in the Arctic Circle, there are times when the flies are so thick in Canada they can kill a moose. I think âBâ is entirely too optimistic.

At the speed he travels there is compression wave in front of him in the air. Nothing would actually strike him. It would be shoved out of the way.

This assumes Superman isnât all that aerodynamic. Or that the wall of air he puts in front of him at that speed wouldnât shield him by making bugs explode away from his face. (But also probably ignite the air or cause a nuclear reaction. But thatâs quibbling. :p)
