I’ve had a full beard since I went to college. There is no reason it has to be abrasive if cared for properly. What I will never understand is the “three-day-beard” unshaven look that seems so popular. Either grow a beard or don’t. Turning your face into an abrasive pad is antisocial.
My ex had a mustache and when we were in the military, he kept it trim. But after he got out, he didn’t keep it as neatly trimmed. Not fun getting poked up the nose by those hairs.

Occasionally, I will think about growing a goatee, but my better-half has exactly the same reaction as Reine. Therefore, I don’t even try any more.
