A new iPod Nano? This certainly dates the comic. The hat strap for the nano is a good idea.

A brief search indicates that 2005 was the first gen of the nano. What you can see of his looks about right.

In 2011 I selected a 6th gen one from Megacorp as an anniversary gift. I used it with a cassette adapter to play through the stereo in the Venerable Bronco, up until the system died in 2020. I replaced that with a new stereo that can play from USB. The iPod is now a bedside music system with a pair of small speakers I got somewhere. It works fine, except that the power switch quit working, a known problem with that model. It still comes on when the USB cable is plugged in though, so not a big deal.
