I enjoy a clever commercial (the Snickers “celebrity” ads being an example of pricelessness). But nowhere can I remember being overly influenced to buy the product being promoted. Stan Freberg did perhaps his finest work with the over-the-top expensive Great American Soup ad featuring Ann Miller, but it did little to support what was, in reality, a rather mediocre line of canned soup.

An ad influencing a person to buy things? Are there really such people?
