Feels a little funny, doesn’t it, Betty.
Fear not. The novelty will soon wear off.
My husband in his younger years.
Hubby and I work the crossword puzzles at breakfast, and read while we eat dinner and supper.
As a retired reading teacher I have been loving this!
My mom not only insisted on ‘no books at the table’, she also insisted that we use decent table manners and chew our food.
This was torture when dinner came while I was at a really good part of a book – or when my brother was, I suppose!
I was always allowed to get to the end of the paragraph.
But it might have been a long paragraph if I didn’t care for what was for dinner.
Before my mother asked me to do something for her, she would see where I was at in my book. If I was close to the end, she waited because I would be get a little……grumpy. But if I was in the middle of the book, it was safe. :-)
