Actually a couple of these in the front yard might have solved Poncho’s problem yesterday.

Until a year or two ago, the Wikipedia entry for “Sharpie” actually began with “For the dog, see ‘Shar Pei’.”

And this picture showed up several times in my e-mail:

    Isn’t the plural of Shar-Pei, Shar-Pi?

I heard they bred some sharpeis so over-wrinkled surgery had to be done so they could actually see. Fashion has a lot to answer for.

As a former dog breeder (English Cocker Spaniels), there has to be a limit on what is bred with what.

I had a Lab/Shar-pei mix for 15 1/2 years. She was one of a very large litter, and the puppies’ appearance ranged from pretty wrinkled to just a little loose skin around the neck and jaw. She was an absolute delight.
