I was about that kid’s age when I realized that I had no idea how much my father earned, or to what degree “we” could be considered wealthy. So I asked my dad how much he made and then realized that I didn’t know how to judge the answer he gave me. It was just numbers, with no meaning. Later I figured that it was average, and we had what we needed.
