It’s funny. My brother-in-law teaches a computer intro class at a community college and gets exactly this all the time from his students. He hands out a syllabus at the start that explains everything quite clearly from handing in homework to extra credit. One of the first assignments is that the students send him an email (it’s explained how to do it on the syllabus) and follow some other instructions on the syllabus just to make sure they read it. Yet they still ask these kinds of questions.
I remember my first earned F in a class. The teacher told us about some assignment due Friday the next week. She reminded the class on Wednesday that the assignment was due on Friday. I didn’t remember hearing either one. I was totally astounded Friday when everyone else was passing in their papers. Being an A student, I begged to get at least a B or even a C grade if I turned in an A paper on Monday. Never hurts to ask, right? The teacher said I have to learn to live with the consequences. Later I learned there was another kid who didn’t hear either notice. To this day I wonder how that happened.
