We went on a cruise along the Norwegian coast and the favorite buffet food appeared to be Potatoes. I also was watching for any “Viking” behavior, but didn’t see any. So I guess it is possible for former terrorists to reform!
Years ago, my father managed a restaurant on the campus of a university. The larger male athletes would go straight to the end of the buffet and load up on meat, only. He told them it was their right but if it continued, the restaurant wouldn’t be able to afford to continue the buffet.

Old Norse for food was ‘matr.’ In modern Norwegian and Swedish, ‘mat’ is the word, while Danish has ‘mad,’ with the ‘d’ closer to the ‘th’ in ‘the.’
