At the end of the first article of impeachment on page five (which pertains to abuse of power), however, there is a paragraph that nods to the 2020 election.
✄
This paragraph is significant for two reasons, as pointed out by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
~
First, “by emphasizing that Mr. Trump ‘will remain a threat,’ the Democrats are trying to counter the argument that since it is just 11 months until the next election, the matter ought to be left to the voters to decide,” The Times’ Peter Baker wrote in an annotation of the articles of impeachment. “In effect, they suggest the crime is continuing.”
~
Second, The Journal highlighted a particular phrase (emphasis ours): “President Trump thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.”
~
The Senate then votes whether to remove a president from office, which requires a two-thirds majority in the Senate.
Disqualification from running for office would then take a second vote in the Senate — one that requires only a simple majority to pass, according to The Journal.
Has anyone noticed that the TDS victims who normally post here are compltely dicsonnected from today’s strip with their commentary? Someone call the loony squad.
Ahem, to whit on today’s very funny and timely Statis commentary….ahem.
We have met the enemy and he is us. We have adopted Big Brother as a friend in our pocket, in our refrigerators and in tiny little “smart” dvices n our homes. We have enabled Bif Brother by commerce with Alphabet inc and allowing major political power to the Bezos crowd et. al.
Diaconnect. Turn off the nonsense, the surveillance tools embedded in the devices and be more independent for real freedom and less intrusion. Lobby for laws that prevent privacy abuse.
Why listen to a bunch of yammering know-nothing Republicans when you could take a nice sleeping pill and learn more? They all seem to think that asking questions of witnesses is equal to launching nonsensical monologues to the House at large. They are only jealous of their colleagues in the Senate where the Republican inmates are running the asylum.

How can Schiff hearing anything over all the whiny, incessant yelling by Jim Jordon*?
*No wonder he didn’t hear anything about his team when he was a wrestling coach.

I could be wrong, but I think he’s talking about Alexa. Which strangely enough is the ad on my GoComics page right now. Eerie.

Pelosi, she just handed the 2020 election to the Republicans with her “impeach at all costs” stupidity

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very Merry Christmas
And a happy new year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For left and for right
Let’s come together
And stop all the fight

Oh, is he not complaining that Pelosi caught him gossiping? I always assume the punchline is political.

Worth noting that the political comments our RW cranks are moaning about started with a political comment from a RW crank. Check the timestamps.

Today’s strip was not political.
Winslow, usually portrayed as the dimmer of PC’s dynamic duo, is clearly talking about Alexa.
Guess I’m with Brain Pudding on this one.
Hope that doesn’t make me brain dead!
