I keep telling my cats it’s too cold to go out and they sometimes still demand to go out. But they give up when I go sit in the living room. Then they climb on my lap and we all fall asleep in the recliner (well, unless I have to work that day. Then I make sure I stay awake. The cats get to sleep, though).
Turkey Free Thanksgiving. My Thanksgiving will be turkey free because I don’t care much for turkey. I have to work, but we’re having a catered dinner. I don’t know what’s on the menu, but I expect to be dining on mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and rolls. And if there’s ham, I’ll have some of that too. There’ll be some kind of dessert as well and I’m sure I’ll find something to my liking.
And according to my calendar, it’s Turkey Leftover Day. I wonder about that one. I’d think tomorrow would be Turkey Leftover Day since that’s when people start eating the leftovers.
As my family grows older, it branches out and expands. Hence today 35 have gathered ages ranging from 6 weeks to 89 years old. We will fill four tables. Back in the 50’s we went to my grandparents for holiday meals. The adults ate upstairs in the dining room and the “kids” ate at a large table in the finished basement. Even when I was in my early 20’s I still ate downstairs because there was no room at the “adult table”. This is still family lore: you go sit at the “kiddie table.”
Yep, my 2 kept insisting on going out on the back deck last night despite the high wind and just below freezing temp … they weren’t out for very long before demanding back in :)
Happy Thanksgiving to the neighbours to the south! Hope everyone has a safe journey if travelling and enjoys a meal with family and/or friends
It was almost a vegetarian Thanksgiving. Due to my new Roaster Oven we had our turkey last, after dessert. This will go down in our family legends. On another note, I met up with dear neighbors walking their dogs before dinner. Huge oak? leaves lay heavily on the ground everywhere. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was one of the best in spite of very high winds threatening flying the giant balloons. I hope all TC readers enjoyed today and arrive home safely to their loved ones and furrballs (feathered friends, etc).
Love Chesney’s expression in the second panel. Look at those big eyes! On another note, saw a Stellar’s jay, a hawk, and some swans outside. (Didn’t see any turkeys, though.) Went to my Aunt and Uncle’s house for Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
I’m thankful to my friends here, I may not have met you personally, but I consider you all my good friends.
Good friends are there for each other, don’t judge and are happy or sad for each other when needed!
I’m at my daughters and their good friends are coming for dinner tomorrow as well.
