A funeral would cost thousands. I have arranged to be cremated, the ashes disposed of by the cremation company, and the money saved sent to Doctors without Borders. I like the idea of my death contributing to improve someone else’s life.
I went in and did preplanning. Now that I know what kind of questions are asked, I’m glad I did it myself rather than dumping it on my kids to decide. I wouldn’t want them to waste any of my (teeny-tiny) estate on “nice” things that I certainly don’t care about.
