chef: After the restaurant I worked for went out of business I decided to open one myself!! I coldly afford a pice so I squatted a foreclosed house that still had the gas on, And thats how "fork Closure" The restaurant was born! KKNICE!! What do the neighbors think? we think the mushroom risotto is to die for!!

The comic is funny but it’s a sad and angering commentary about the time when this was published (2008) that so many houses were vacant and so many people homeless that squatting was widespread. It may be about to happen again thanks to the Orange Buffoon’s handling of the pandemic.

The strip reminds me of how around 2008 most of the stores along the “main strip” in my neighborhood closed and boarded up and we thought it was the end, time to move et all, and then a few years later they all opened back up as mostly independent restaurants. All the foreclosed houses are mostly rentals now though… So that part sucks.
