The same guy probably also bitches that government cannot be trusted to solve problems, and that private citizens can be relied on to solve them

I had a friend in college who would randomly pick up trash around campus and put it in a trash can. At the time I thought he was a super weird freakazoid, but I find myself doing the same thing nowadays.

Maybe she lives in a beach house and doesn’t have a lawn. Instead of cutting grass, she picks up trash.

don’t worry – there’ll be plenty more trash to take the place of what she collected…

one of the neighbors in a previous location told me with a straight face that if i kept cutting the grass along the road in front of our property and picking up the trash that idiots just chucked out the car window that people would expect me to do it all the time…

I do that on my block every other Sunday. Trash night.
