I made it a tradition in my family to use odd boxes to disguise gifts because I could always guess what I was given by my parents. I still do it. Often its a box wrapped in another box in another box. Nobody is dumb enough to think I would give them something as expensive as a cellphone or playstation! But they never know til they open if its a box inside a box or not.

As Dennis Day said on an old Jack Benny radio show: “The only present I got that year was a deck of cards. I was so disappointed – the box it came in said ‘Bicycle!’”

Kind of a different way to re-gift.

This wouldn’t work as a joke for me, I like the actual gifts more then what was in the box. Well, maybe not the sweatshirt.

I remember when my son turned 21 (he’s 41 ow) he wanted a DVR.I borrowed a cardboard prop from a local store, got an original box and put a brick in the prop. Of course I had the real thing i reserve.PS ever seen anyone trying to blow out 21 candles when 10 are those self relighting ones??
