When I was a stringer for a local newspaper, the municipal board of trustees was considering seeding for rain using a silver compound. I knew one of the trustees fairly well, so I pointed out to him that the proposal had an extra benefit: since the silver precipitated out in forming the raindrops, it would cover the area with a trace amount of silver and thus discourage predation and other shenanigans by lycanthropes. He agreed that this was a good point, but I don’t think he actually brought it up to the others. I blame political correctness.
