We used to have both families over for Thanksgiving (for 25 years). I would start baking on Monday as I made cookies that took several days. I would work on them again on Tuesday. Wednesday I would do the rest of the baking and make the soup. Wednesday night husband would make & assemble the sweet potatoes (Colonial Williamsburg recipe). Then I would spend all day Thursday cooking everything else – but the turkey – and finishing cooking the soup. (My sister would pick up the hot, cooked turkey on her way to us from where we ordered it, which left the oven open to make everything else. ) First 8 or 9 years and again the last 5 or so, I did not have a dishwasher and would wash everything by hand before and after (it all sat and collected dust year to year). Ohhhh, I so miss so those dinners.

No wonder I am so tired! I do all the cooking and baking as well as the tasting and sampling.

Latkes and corned beef last night. I ate way too much. I have a food hang-over this morning.
