Well, here is the Poochie that was referenced some weeks ago.

So she had a past in the neighborhood before the first Peanuts’ comic strip

First time I’ve ever seen Poochie

Well that’s not a cold shoulder by snoopy. Why is she upset? Maybe the cute puppy has grown into a handsome cool lad.

Well, Charlie Brown did warn her.

Why does she have a dog’s name, and why does she look like Charlie Brown in drag?

The only appearance of Poochie.

People change, and so do dogs…Snoopy is the Cool Joe now.

Poochie looks kinda like Freida.

“You were the one that first started to call me Charlie Brown”. What does that mean? Was he Joey Black before? or Sammy White??

I thought maybe he would present her with the stick that he still had last Sunday.

So, that is Poochie ? Young and in love.

Snoopy’s using a tried and true formula—hide one’s pain behind a “cool” exterior.

Like I said, this was the oddest story arc in the 50 years of the strip. Well, maybe the “Lucy the kiddie Golf champion” Sunday story arc from the early 50’s (many adults in that one).

I’m used to TV shows and movies where they suddenly bring in an “old friend” with lots of history, and they always turn out to either have been the villain all along, or they get killed off so the hero can have an almost-cry.

It’s funny how her poofy pom-pom hair covers half her face, especially in the first panel (not counting the intro).

She looks like Sally with weird hair. I don’t understand who she is/was…?

Poochie is Charlie Brown’s long gone twin sister, who first called him Charlie Brown as she exited the womb immediately after he did…..

I went home once.

That’s all right. In the “Peanuts” strip (unlike Luanne) you’ll never grow up or grow old. Immortal children. Think about it….

What is his name if it isn’t Charlie Brown?

Go find an Old English Setter, just like you did when Snoopy was a pup.

I thought Poochie was a dog? Does anybody else think that Poochie looks like Charlie Brown?

I’m guessing this first ran in early 70s because of Joe Cool, but man, I do not remember Poochie at all, and I lived and breathed Peanuts back then. She must not have been around long.
