    I weigh within 3 lbs of what i weighed when i was 13 years old. Of course I was 5 foot 11, and 280 lbs back then too. Muscles have degraded a little. It’s now much harder to carry a 50 lb bag of grain over each shoulder than it used to be. I fear the day when I can only carry one at a time.

    If you go on a diet, understand that you can only maintain the weight you earn with that diet by eating that way for the rest of your life. Until about five years ago, I had been on a diet since I was about 15. I worked on the idea that a pound of fat equals 3500 calories. If that actually was true, I would have totally disappeared sometime in the early 80s.

    The older you get the harder it is to lose weight, I don’t care how much you exercise and reduce food consumption.
