Introvert is not the same as shy. I am an introvert, but not shy. Can talk to anyone. But put me in a party and say “mingle” and I end up in a corner or holding up a wall

Introvert does not mean shy. I am an introvert, but can talk to anyone -one on one, and I often start conversations. However, put me in a party and say “mingle” and i end up in a corner or holding up a wall.

An introvert is someone who gets his/her energy from within; an extrovert is someone who gets his/her energy from others. An introvert feels ‘exhausted’ after being at a large party and wants to be alone; an extrovert doesn’t. Introverts tend to start a conversation with a statement, expecting the other person to join in if they are interested in the topic (‘those election results were surprising’). An extrovert tends to start a conversation with a question (‘what do you think about those election results?’).
