Actually, no one can be FORCED to be an executor. You simply renounce it, and it falls to the next one named (or if no one is named, an administrator is appointed, usually from the next of kin … though in Rick’s case, perhaps everyone will deny being related to him).
actually, there’s no legal binding duty to execute a will if one doesn’t want to handle it – he can always recuse himself … so Scott would win in the end …

They’d still be mad at Rick for issuing the orders. You think the “boot to the head” guy didn’t take any blame?
Of course, Rick may not care how anyone feels about him once he’s dead. Or maybe he figures they’ll all hate him anyway.
