We used to call that “from scratch”.

Betty, just take the enthusiasm and don’t question it. She’s always gotta find the negative side to everything. Sheesh!

This is as opposed to just freestyling it with whatever ingredients are handy and sound appealing, yeah? I’ve never been a good enough cook to not work from recipes.

I take recipes as just suggestions. I never have all the ingredients to complete the recipe.

Fun, but my guys love the dishes I made through their lives. Comfort food. My husband loves what I concoct, too.

I am guessing they mostly eat processed food? Frozen dinners , heat N eat , Stuff that’s getting boring? Yep I would like a recipe now and then if that’s all we ate.

Wait…what happened to the “door assist button” gag? A Sunday strip would have been the perfect opportunity to really stretch that joke out, explore all the subtleties and nuances—in a way that just couldn’t be done in five straight daily strips

I’ve written a couple of cookbooks. It’s hard work! I’m a “little of this and little of that” cook so I have to make each recipe a number of times, and measure how much I’m using so I can make a real “recipe” from it.

If it is eatable, I am all for it.

The normal diet of Nanaimo bars covered in cheese curds and gravy seems to be wearing on them.

So, usually Betty just opens a can? No wonder the lads are excited.

I knew a fellow that usually worked from a recipe, but he had to quit after his lab was raided…
