This was the final baseball-themed strip. A little explanation, Joe Torre was the manager of the New York Yankees at the time of the publication. I remember seeing this strip on display at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

I grew up in Atlanta. The Braves first season in my city was 1966, the spring I finished 8th grade. I became a huge Torre fan after hearing him one night on the Braves Radio pregame show. I have been his biggest fan ever since. In addition, like so many people across the world, I am a huge fan of “Peanuts”. It is unbelievable to me that I have never seen this strip before, or even known if it’s existence. Like all of Charles Schultz’s work, the perfection is in the details, and he has Joe’s eyes dead on! Can’t tell you how much I love this strip, and how happy it makes me every time I look at it! Thanks to all those who put my path here together. “Happiness is finding the perfect Peanuts comic strip that features your all time favorite player!”
