It’s a shame that CB didn’t just satisfy himself by becoming a manager, like Sparky Anderson. Sparky couldn’t hit or do anything other than play second base well, but he became a HOF manager. I mean, look at how well the team’s playing with him on the sidelines. He’s a GENIUS on the other side of the lines.
Terry Francona wasn’t a great player either - but he’s doing pretty good with the Sox as Manager since he’s been there. Much better than his predescessors, anyway.
I wonder if Charles “Sparky” Schulz ever considered that Charlie Brown was simply miscast in his managerial role by his own hubris. Maybe that was part of the plan all along.
CB does remind me of some INFPs I know, both in being a particular kind of square peg in a round hole and in the way he deals with other issues in life.

I always wondered if Charlie Brown would grow up to be a quiet recluse who turns out to be an ax murderer. He had all the makings.

Lucy should have hit him in the arm with a bat in the fourth panel and there should have been a fifth with her asking how his arm is now.

Lucy: How’s the image quality of the Peanuts comic today, Bronkster?
