Alice: Oh, boy! Is that your Toad Zombies graphic novel? Petey: Yup! I've got 12 boxes of introductory material all finished. Alice: That's a lot, right? Petey: I had to give the plot sufficient context to cohere. Alice: So what happens next? Petey: I introduce the hero, Moseyin' Dwight! Alice: Moseyin' Dwight? Petey: And his grizzled sidekick, standoffish Andrew!

How many boxes will it take to introduce them?

By box 35 we’ll discover that Moseyin’ Dwight is in fact the hero.

Sometimes I have the feeling that, in real life, I’M the grizzled sidekick.

Yes. I agree with shytimes2. It’s delightful to see Petey enthusiastic AND smiling! Bravo! More, more!

RSR, the difference is that the Toad Zombies have already croaked.
When the graphic novel is finished, Petey should adapt it into a Wagnerian Opera, Der LiebesToad von Moseyin’ Dwight (it looks like it’s LONG enough).
I’d suggest that Dwight accompany his arias on a banjo, but that would make him ‘Ramblin’ Dwight.”

“Shouldn’t it be ‘Der Liebes-tod Toad von Moseyin’ Dwight’ ?”
Nope. Not every joke needs to be spelled out, not every pun needs to be explained.
“That which can be made explicit to the idiot is not worth my care. The wisest of the ancients considered what is not too explicit as the fittest for instruction because it rouses the faculties to act.” – William Blake

@fritzoid: good pun
I wonder…What would the wise ancients say about using quotes in attempts to demean others while alluding that the user himself is wise?
We may never know. O well, something to chew on I guess.
