Sergio still holds onto Rosa’s engagement ring, huh? (My father still held onto my mother’s until my older brother used it a few years ago. My [future at the time] sister-in-law was most appreciative.)
Maybe this is bad karma, but I’m wondering if they ever get robbed while they’re sleeping or gone. It wouldn’t be funny, but it might create a new thread that has him get the rings back when someone is caught. Then he starts wearing it again. Just a random thought.
In the 3rd panel, Sergio is getting into bed and the box is still open on the nightstand. In the final panel, he is asleep and the box has been closed. Is that Rosa telling him it’s okay to move on?
This has become one of my favorite comics, because it reminds me of the hard working, family oriented Latino and Latina people here in Texas. There’s a lot of morons also. Those who keep electing Louie Gohmert come to mind. He just voted no on a bill to make lynching a hate crime.

This entire series has been so poignant and moving. Thank you, Mr. Cantu and Mr. Castellanos.

The ring box looks like a tiny coffin.
