You have to remember, Wiley abhors water. It was the getting wet that triggered him.

And that’s how it started?

Imagination needs almost no prodding.

“Wiley, a superstitious poet with an aversion to water in any form." His introduction in the front of one of the B.C books.

So they were doing their laundry at the same time…?

Penance? That means some sort of superstition is involved. Oh, yeah. Hart and his heirs were/are bible bangers.

Luckily, I have a very active imagination.

Wiley doesn’t care whether the girls were clothed or not. It was B.C.’s being so close to water that raised such a reaction.
