I had a co-worker who was born deaf. He was an auto body tech, which was perfect because the power tools didn’t bother him.
He read lips and signed, but had never learned to talk.
You could get his attention if you shouted in a high pitched voice …sort of a shriek.
His wife told me, the shrill noise was exactly the pitch of their new born baby.
More “white” noise?!
