If it were Lucy, she would probably have bet against her team

Rerun is a little old to be hitting the bottle. Give him a sippy cup, instead.

He can’t even talk; he just thinks. How did anyone know he made a bet?

When I was a boy in the early fifties a nickel would get you just about any candy bar—Three Musketeers, Forever Yours, Chunky—or a package or box of chewing gum or a packet of baseball cards (no betting on which players were inside!). That was a good deal!

This arc, originally from April of ’73, may refer to one of two publicized attempts at game fixing in ’72: one in July and one in August.

I’d be concerned if he bet against his team and then did poorly. But to bet for his team just seems like an act of confidence. How could he cheat to pull that off?

I dunno. They didn’t take the Black Sox World Series wins away from them when their throwing games was found out. Why take Charlie Brown’s victory away over a nickel bet?

Wondering how a year old baby manages to bet on a game…or even bat for that matter.

We note that Re-run was wearing a yellow shirt when his sister started harping on him and now we find that the shirt morphed into purple. Only in a comic strip!
