The original comic strip that followed this one will not be reprinted because of all the comic strip shuffling to land April’s birth on April 1. If you want to know the next part of the original story look at this comic strip before you read tomorrow’s comic strip.
I have noticed that the invisible wall only really works on strangers and other people with invisible walls of their own. Sort of like the magnet ends that repel each other. Family and the innocent walk right through them.
I admit that I didn’t get on well with 3 of my sisters when I was a kid, but I don’t think I ever tormented any of them as much as Michael torments her.
The invisible wall would work better if she silently made those bricks. Saying it out loud just shows Mike that he’s getting to her which is exactly what he wants.
Oh yes, I have that many bricks and more from people who have hurt my feelings. Sometimes, and I said sometimes, there is truth in what they throw at you. You have to learn to sort that out.
Reading these older strips, I’m reminded of what a total a-hole Michael was, and how, at some later point, he suddenly became a nice, kind, and considerate young adult. In my experience it doesn’t work that way. I’ve never known anyone who was a mean bully as a kid and then grew up to be a great guy.

Mike needs to lay off Liz before he becomes uncomfortably numb.

I had an older brother who I thought was a jerk but he was a great guy compared to Michael. You don’t need this constant stress in your life.

And if I’ve built this fortress around your heart,
Encircled you in trenches and barbed wire,
Then let me build a bridge, for I cannot fill the chasm,
And let me set the battlements on fire.

7,566 of them? Mike, think about it. She keeps track because you really hurt her feelings.

It seems amazing to me that Mike is such a dim bulb that he doesn’t realize that Liz has feelings. Extremely immature!
