@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp does not seem to buy it that his Flo has won anything at Bingo :o) my avatar is of a lady hitting a bloke with her handbag because he is smoking and she wants to cut down on second hand smoke , which reminds me that now that I have stopped anyone smoking near me bothers me , how was your day ? ours should be busy but calm I hope and I am glad that Ling’s grandson is improving BCNU pal.
No bingo in Ecuador! The favorite pastime in the barrios, like everything else, is on hold until this Coronavirus pandemic is conquered. Bingo here isn’t played so much in Bingo parlors but in somebody’s front yard on a Sunday afternoon, with the prizes often regifted merchandise rather than cash.
They’ve instituted a 9 pm – 5 am curfew and everything and everybody has to be off the streets by then. Last night, Machala, which is a fairly large and noisy city was like a ghost town or like one of those deserted cities in a sci-fi movie. Today, the streets are very quiet, with very little traffic and few people about.
Grandson is slowly improving and regaining his eyesight but the surgeon has told his parents that it’s going to be touch and go for a bit, and it will take time.
I don’t go to bingo often now. I haven’t had a win of a beautiful £100 or more for ages and ages. Last time I won, I shouted for £10 and it was split 3 WAYS!
Well, I gave blood today. BUT… It wasn’t successful.
To cut a long story short. The needle went in all fine. Donation was going smoothly for a few minutes until the nurse noticed the flow was slowing down. She adjusted the needle and got it flowing normally again.
A couple more minutes go by and it slows down again. They are only allowed to adjust the needle once for safety of the donor so ended up having to call it a day after donating about 3 quarters of blood. One more and it would have been a full pint.
However it’s not all bad. My blood will very likely be used for research purposes but it won’t be tested or issued to a hospital for a patient.
And I’ve just realised that was a long story.
I’ve had failed attempts before but mainly because of vein issues. If it’s not one thing it’s another.

Maybe Andy knew that Flo had gone to Bingo and was waiting for the chance to try his personal luck

Not being himself trustworthy, Andy disbelieves everything told him by everybody. Except for, “Here, lads! This round’s on me!”
