Okay friends, today my SIL and I entered the crazy zone.
Our news this morning said it might be a good idea to stock up. So at 9:30 AM we went to Albertsons. And so did most of Summerlin apparently. I snagged the last package of chicken, 12 count legs. There was no ground beef, or steaks!. Luckily the meat counter had ground beef but limited to 3 pounds. We also got stew meat and a couple of roasts. There was no spaghetti, or bags of flour! No paper or water. Nor soap. We have enough food for about 3 weeks and are going to shelter in place.
My SIL was furloughed from his job as Director of Food and Beverages at a Casino because they are shutting all the restaurants. The Strip is going dark!
And more people get the flu every year than CoV19!

National Write Down Your Story Day. My life story would be dull reading, but oh the stories I could tell about the madness in our Walmart and what I’ve heard happened at Woodman’s on yesterday (Friday the 13th) as people mobbed us trying to buy toilet paper and other things. Crazy!
National Learn About Butterflies Day. After a day of crazy shoppers, reading about butterflies on my day off might bring me a bit of pleasant peace.
The governor of Wisconsin ordered all K-12 schools to close for 2 weeks to try to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. This is getting crazy! The university also ended classes for the rest of the year and is going to on-line only classes and they are emptying out the dorms. And the high school boys and girls basketball championship games have been canceled same as the college games were. NO more NBA games, no major league baseball either from what I’ve heard. Any word on the Olympics? Are they canceled too?
On the other hand, I had paper towels as my VPI for March. A couple days ago, I was tied for something like 14th place with a bunch of other people. Today. I moved into second place. If I keep second place, I win $25. If I move up to first place, I win $50. But I could lose ground if we can’t get in more of those paper towels. Trixi has another brand of paper towels as her VPI. She was in second place yesterday and now is in a close third place. She could still easily beat me. I’ll know in 18 more days.
In honour of Pi day, I shall bake an apple crisp. The shopping insanity is in Canada, too. The grocery stores are packed, and one shopper actually pulled a gun on another in Toronto. The Home Show and Canada Blooms have been cancelled. Schools in Ontario are shut down for an additional two weeks after spring break. Every possible precaution is being taken to slow the spread. I hope a vaccine can be found soon.
One of my 7 brothers is the sports director of my local TV station. With no local, state, national or even international sports going on, the station is dropping Sports from the news program so he has nothing to do. He proposed the idea of in depth interviews of local coaches and athletes but with Ohio and West Virginia schools closed until further notice, all access to them has been cut off by the states.
Reminds me of the time one of my cats dragged a slice of ham off the table. On another note, saw some varied thrushes, Some robins, some juncos, and two sparrows while out walking today. I also heard a woodpecker.
