My older sister told me that when I was a kid and I was a nervous wreck for weeks. :)

He would have a tough time in my neighborhood, as most of the sideways are more cracks than whole. My driveway looks like a map of the Nile delta. Lots of bad concrete poured back in the ’70s.

We also used to say “step on a line, break your mother’s spine!”

This is the attitude we all should be taking about Covid-19 and social distancing. It’s not worth taking a chance, especially since so many don’t show symptoms for days, if ever. Also wearing masks, which several experts are now beginning to say we all should be doing, better to err on the side of caution, but it’s a matter of availability.

I was never willing to take that chance, either.

If that were true, my Mother would be paraplegic by now, if she’s still alive.

I’m 58 and I still avoid stepping on cracks. Ma is 89 and her back is still pretty good so I guess it works. ;)

Step on a line, break your mother’s spine. Why is it always the mom?
