This is special to me since now I feel vindicated that there is actually a proper English word spelt yep. ( I was admonished some 50 years ago by my school teacher for routinely saying yep to the teacher instead of yes. My argument was that yep is much easier to speak and roll off the tongue than the difficult to pronounce yes. Think about it, even puppy dogs can easily say yep, yep, yep, but you’d rarely hear a puppy dog vocalize yes. Unfortunately that wisdom didn’t save me from having to write aka The Simpsons, one hundred times on the blackboard; “Yep is not the correct way to say the word yes!”
