My main line of defense is to stay out of the virus’ way. My wife and I stay home. We venture out twice a week: one is a well-planned trip to accomplish as many necessary errands as we can on one exposure; the other is to take out food from a restaurant we would normally eat in.
I observe the precautions put out by the CDC, I am very aware of what I touch (I have an elaborate “system” for pumping gas. I never touch my car with potentially contaminated hands – it’s a matter of sequencing of when to put on and take off the gloves). I wash my hands frequently and observe social distancing. I wear a mask to protect other people.
My last line of defense, that I hope I will never engage, is that, in spite of my age, I am very healthy with a strong immune system. Even with a “normal” flu, I fare well, either not getting it or having only mild symptoms. I don’t want to get to this point.

Let’s hope you officiate at his funeral, Francis.

The one thing I am not doing is panic.
