So, the reason kids demand “shotgun” comes from movie “Westerns” from the 50s (at least) in which stage coaches were often depicted with a driver and a guy riding as a guard, carrying a shotgun. Apparently, we’ve now come full circle…
I thought it came from the old west where someone with a shotgun traveled on the stagecoach to protect the shipment. I’d ask the googles but I haven’t had my coffee yet.
