When I read a kinda dim Louie yesterday I thought of leaving the family in Virginia to drive back to Ill with a load of corn in the car….an inspector was at border of the next state asking what produce we were bringing in asked if we had corn and my dad said, “just roastin’ ears” and he said ok. Oh, my, did we love that corn. This was eons ago when we saw chain gangs working on the area around the roads.
My dear grandmother loved her tea. She was a Brit. When I was a kid I remember sitting across from her at the kitchen table and her with her ever present cup of tea. Once in a while she would get a spoon and pour a little brandy in it. Actually it was more than just a little. She would hold the spoon over the cup and pour the brandy. But it was more than a spoonful. She would keep pouring as the brandy spilled over the spoon. Then she would say, “See? Just a spoonful!” This was not a common occurence. She would have the brandy once and in a while. But I thought it was funny.
Personally, I thought Henry was chowing down on (and generously sharing) a big cookie, given the plate and the crumbs. Although, it does look more like a steak in the last panel. Either way, I wouldn’t complain—about the food, or eating it.

Henry is eating with a plate. Looks like a sandwich or a burger to me.

Louie is like all dogs, they can’t get enough of food they like.

For Henry it’s not the food, it’s the sharing.
For Louie, it’s the food. It’s almost always the food.

In life, Louie, greed is not a virtue. Oh, hell, here, have some more, you big lug.

What’s Henry eating? A cookie or a big meat patty?
