Funny how you can get used to someone, even if you can’t stand them.

What IF you and Lucy had gotten married someday, Schroeder? Are you so accustomed to her face now, that you actually miss her having visions of the two of you as husband and wife, even with your wedding picture(with her,of course)atop your piano?(Yup, NO DOUBT Lucy would just LOVE THAT-Schroeder having their wedding picture sitting atop his piano!)

Charlie Brown is being unduly harsh on Schroeder. Lucy wasn’t exactly making herself likeable, with her unwanted marriage proposals and romantic overtures when Schroeder made it plain he wasn’t interested, her dissing Beethoven (even smashing one of the Beethoven busts that Schroeder placed on his piano). I often wondered why Schroeder even tolerated her.

This single strip ruined two characters, first of why is Charlie randomly just dunking on Schroeder, who is one of his friends, who even had his back at one point, Why would he even side with Lucy when she’s always been a pain in the but for him? Why does he even care about thier relationship in the first place? And last, why does Schroeder even miss Lucy when she’s made terrible marraige proposals towards him, like every time she was always trying to control his career by nagging him on how she’s always more important than his interests and made herself really unlikable? How can Lucy be his “muse” when Beethoven is his muse, and Lucy is the one trying to derail him by. This is one of the most fakes dramas I’ve seen. Like was this just done to a reference to my fair lady when Henry and Eliza’s relationship is nothing like theirs?

The reason why Charlie Brown is upset with Schroeder is because his best friend, aka Linus, has just moved away and he probably won’t see him again. I’d be pretty bummed if I was an eight-year-old whose friend just moved away.
