Cartoon violence is only funny when it happens to cartoon characters. We all laugh when Daffy Duck gets his bill blown off by a shot gun, but we would be horrified by a scene of a real duck getting his bill blown off by a load of buckshot.
Further, we cheer on Daffy’s injuries because he is being obnoxious and provoking the fight. We find his comeuppance to be humorous.
The essence of cartoon violence is that we understand that it could never happen in real life and that it is only happening to make believe characters who asked for it.
I simply cannot find any parallels to Sophia’s plight. DanT has done his best to show us that Sophia is a real life human, NOT a cartoon character. Accordingly, Sophia should suffer real life effects of a bullet wound through her lower abdomen.
Let us just say the if Sophia were to present to any decent ER in her current conditions, she would be admitted on the spot, immediately sent to surgery, and be operated on by the first qualified surgeons they could grab to work on her.
Her condition right now is grave. Her prognosis is not good.
Well done, RJ. Your father would be so proud… Now, take Sopapilla to the My Little Pony Festival where she can get treated for her wounds. Unless Jenkins is into horse-meat, that’s the safest place for her.
