Where Perro rides again…. and it’s only Episode (Chapter? Page?) Seven.

Well… ok, not again, exactly… because he hasn’t ridden yet… not where we can see it anyway…

and…um…. he isn’t …. well…. he’s in the saddle…. but I wouldn’t say he’s actually riding… yet.

If there were one more panel…. he’d be riding. I’m sure of it.

But he’s really really close to riding, right?

Poor, loyal Fernando… the faithful friend…. the patient patsy… will he ever learn?

I think maybe he knows already… he tries to discourage Perro, and then you can see the panic in his eyes as awaits the whip.

But when you’re the trusted pal and confidante of the man who’s about to lead the uprising…. a man who will one day soon be very powerful….

who is skilled with the sword, and almost-but-not-quite proficient with the whip…. or at least, he HAS one, right there in his hand…. I mean…. what can you do?

If you go to the new site, you’ll see that Nighthawks has chosen to play “Fernando” by ABBA, as accompaniment.

But another song was going through my head, because of the underground hideaway….

I started humming it…. it seemed perfect… complete with castanets….

until I realised…. oops… that one isn’t “Fernando’s Hideaway” … it’s “HERnando’s Hideaway.”

Almost an hour before the GoComics “turn”…

Too early to tell whether the Sherpa website will disappear, or just stop allowing submissions.

But I’ll be back.

Meanwhile… Neal’s campaign worked better in 2011, when more people had flip phones.

Hard to pull that off with a smartphone.

Maybe these days he carries clothespins.

I’ve heard that Samsung has invented a folding smartphone, too.

Just like old times.

Next they’ll invent the phone booth.

On Sherpa… the Feb 26th “Cleo and Company” is still up.

Of course, they’re not at work yet in Kansas City.

ONE Sherpa cartoon has posted a March 1st strip.

And as far as I can tell, GoComics ( or AMU) has NOT posted a word anywhere on the site to tell readers that it’s closing…

no goodbyes, apologies, or warnings.

They said they would do away with Sherpa. Three years ago, they said they would fix Sherpa. Still nothing. They put new comics on the main page from the 1950’s, but they can’t fix anything that has been here for 15 years.
