I recall watching China in the news back in December and marveling at the over reaction to the virus. Possibly the end of their administration the way the citizens were locked into apartment buildings by welded lobby doors and travel was forbidden.
This will bite them in the long run. America and other ‘advanced’ countries were outright patronizing in their derision of China’s massive response.
Now China is on the road to recovery and we are the most stricken nation on earth.
Some how, blaming China for our country’s lack of response is as stupid as believing our appointed president. Americans dying by the tens of thousands and still it is downplayed.
Propaganda is right, our current administrations has us allowing our nation to be overwhelmed by a sickness we could have prevented and can still almost stop where it is, if only the leader would take responsibility instead of hoping more of his enemies die.
I believe people in the U.S. were starting to sound alarms when they saw what was going on in China. We know theirs is an authoritarian regime inclined to hide information about things that might make them look bad, and epidemiologists here know what “novel” pathogens can do. People did try to sound the alarm, but it was suppressed by our administration. It didn’t help that our administration had dismantled agencies which could have helped us prepare.
